Spoletta ww1 o ww2?

Grazie anticipate e saluti a tutti.

altre immagini...eventuali marchi o simboli sarebbero utili nel dettaglio...

ciao,

Saluti

Hello Fausto,

did you see the fuze internals? They don't look like from an italian Mod.906 to me because they are made from brass. Normally the Mod.906 had a steel cased percussion mechanism which was based on a Krupp patent with the purpose that the steel case should protect the percussion mechanism when the fuze hit hard ground.

Fuze made in 1918 By Arsenale di Napoli Spolettificio Torre Annunziata

Unfortunely I didn't see many dismounted fuze for confirm your theory, but you are expert enough!! [17

Do you know if after ww1 this was also used?

Hi Fausto,

yes this fuze in your picture is a normal Mod. 906 a. d. e. with steel cased percussion mechanics. All WW1 Mod.906's I have seen are like this one and all had the small screwed brass ring like seen in your section. I haven't had a Mod.906 from 2nd WW in my hands but the few diagrams of the Mod.906 from 2nd WW all show the same steel cased percussion system. The fuze discussed here has even one more difference to a (for me usual) Mod.906, the complete fuze body (the lower visible part) is made from brass. So there are three differences to a Mod.906 at all:

-no markings (the italian fuzes I know are very well marked)
-different brass cased percussion system
-fuze body made from solid brass

I think most members here have seen a lot more italian Mod.906's than me and may be better able to answer the question. But in conclusion for me the question would be, if it is really an italian fuze? The 58 hectometer scale was widely used for Krupp fuzes so it's not an indicator.

Ciao a tutti,
