6.5 x 53 R Mannlicher from Italy

I’m cartridge collector from The Netherlands.
In my collection I have a 6,5x53R Mannlicher cartridge made by Societa Metallurgica
Italiana (SMI) of Italy in 1915.
This is obviously an export round for Romania.
I did not know that this calibre was made in Italy.
Does anyone have any information on this subject?

Yes it was in the ECRA bulletin No. 554 June 2011.
No response at all till now.

Siamo così certi che questa cartuccia sia stata prodotta dalla Società Metallurgica Italiana? Non è che sia stata trovata dentro la sua scatola originale?
Questo sembrerebbe un tipico marchio tedesco o austriaco, noi non abbiamo mai marchiato con le 4 barrette divisorie (almeno fino a questo momento)
Il disegno è del 1932 quindi ha poco a che fare con questa cartuccia e prova solamente che in quegli anni c'era l'interesse dell'ufficio tecnico SMI per questo tipo, e non solo questo, di munizione.
Avere un disegno non equivale immediamente ad una produzione, sopratutto se su questo non compare il disegno del fondello con annesso marchio, la SFM ha prodotto migliaia e migliaia di disegni dei calibri più disparati ma le cartucce che ha realmente costruito sono state molte ma molte meno.

Ciao Norby, la tua teoria è valida, il problema secondo me nasce dal fatto che questo è l'unico documento conosciuto. Per quanto ne sappiamo potrebbe esisterne anche un altro del periodo inierente la cartuccia.

Thanks for the SMI drawing from the 6,5 mm Mannlicher Cartridge.
It is a pity the letters in the texts are too small to read and I have only a small knowledge on the Italian language.
395D is the DWM case number for “Holland Kal 6,5mm M/95 Gewehr u. MG”.
363 is the DWM bullet number, “Holland-Ordonanz-Gewehr Kal 6,5mm”.
What the meaning is of the letter N in front of 395D and 363 I don’t know.
I like to know the exact meaning of:
Bossol = Case
Capsula = Primer
Pattottola = Bullet
Cartuccia per Sparo = ????????????
Cartuccio normale = Ball cartridge
Cartuccia da esercitaziona = Blank or ????
Caricatou = clip
